Nainital- Lake City of Uttarakhand

Naini Lake

Places for Worship

Aurobindo Ashram
Just a kilometer away from the market of Nainital, it is located warmly in the middle of Kumaon region nearby Nainital. One can arrange a stay in the ashram with a prior notice and permission so as to discover the art of perseverance.

Naina Devi temple
The temple is devoted to goddess Sati and is accompanied with Lord Ganesha and Mata Kali. The legend has it that the two netras or eyes of Goddess Sati fell on this part of land.

St John’s Church in the Wilderness
Built in the year 1844, this church is situated on the northern end of Nainital near by the Naina devi temple. Also, it is the memorial of sufferers of 1880 landslide with the names engraved on a brass plaque in the church premises.

Mall Road
The road is alongside the lake and is reckoned as Govind Ballabh Pant Marg. This is a usually a busy market with number of shops, restaurants, motels, banks, offices and all that one can think about.
